History: They are a fairly modern (2004) British publishing magazine, that sole talking point are retro games. The first 18 issues came with free retro games (a way of promoting people to buy the magazine) and even free software. Their publisher (Live Publishing) went into bankruptcy and was bought by Image Publishing and continued publication in 2005. Retro Gamer was also awarded Best Magazine in 2010 at the Games Media Awards It celebrated the publication of its 150th issue in January of 2016.
Mission: They wanted to relive the past through the games of their youth, they analyze games inside and out from the mechanics and graphics to the process of its creation (speaking to the developers on the journey of its creation).
