Comparing 3 Retro Gamer magazines
My magazine
Genre:games
Ideology: looking different games of all genres to find the most enjoyable and thrilling games to play.
Audience: Any curious gamer seeking another masterpiece
retro Gamer
Genre: Retro style games
Ideology: Looking back at the history of gaming and honoring the journey it has taken .
Audience: any gamer interested in learning about gaming
Section 1: Masthead- this includes the title (retro Gamer) with the strapline being all of the console/companies their content focuses on. The coverline (not always relating to the cover) on the side of the Masthead that is boxed in would be the main anchor. hear the honor creator and mascots alike, as well as speak bout other tiles with the same level of importance
Section 2: Cover image- always pertains to single retro game that will be discussed further in the issue, also going in a more shocking fact about those games (such as SNK reinventing a sub-genre of gaming). Usually the only anchorage is at the bottom to give a little more detail about the issue and add variety to the articles they are demonstrating (with the bar code on the side).
Codes and Convection (most impactful)
- The absence of text helping to emphasize the artwork on the cover
- The Masthead/Strapline telling the reader what the magazine as a whole follows
- The anchors at most four articles to cut down on text and signaling the reader the best articles to read
- The style flat colors and retro fonts (kind of complimenting any game put on the cover) to fit the theme of the magazine
- The simplistic and visible composition of the magazine between Section one- Masthead, Strapline, and Coverline; Section two- the cover image accompanied by the bottom anchor
